About

In September of 2018, the Lord spoke to me and simply said to start gathering clothes, that I would be opening a Clothing Bank. I was excited and didn’t question the Lord at all. I simply shared it with my husband, and we both got to work on asking our friends and family for donations of clothing & shoes.

Three months later, the Lord spoke again. He gave me two names of people and said to call them, that they would have a building for me. Once again, I didn’t question it. I simply obeyed and worked in faith. I made the call and just as sure as The Lord spoke it, they had a building and was perfect for what we wanted to use it for.

With the help of a few good people, on April of 2019, we opened Love & Kindness Clothing Bank. We were all very excited and happy to help those in need in our community. To this day, we continue to count it a privilege and joy to serve all our brothers & sisters.

In the months to follow, the world was hit with the COVID-19 virus. As the economy shut down and people started losing their jobs, Love and Kindness started working harder than ever to help families who couldn’t at the time afford the basic essentials like deodorant, toothpaste, and soap. Coats and shoes were also in high demand, so we did all we could to help fill the need.

When school's first shut down, our concern was in providing the two essential meals that kids would be missing. We understood that for some kids, those school meals were the only two they could rely on. To help, we started a community lunch program. It was open to any child, no matter the age or where they attended school. We did this until the school district started distributing lunches.

In 2020, the Lord moved us to our current location in the East Highland area. It was soon evident why He placed us there. We quickly saw just how great the need was in the area. Sometimes we would run out of items and had to turn people away. We believe it's because of that reason the Lord brought exposure to our ministry. We were surprisingly sought out by WTVM, and The Ledger Enquirer for interviews.

With that exposure came donations and connections which allowed us to better network and provide for more people. It has also provided us with a faithful & loving volunteer team that is dedicated to helping fulfill the needs of Gods people.
